About Astrojohn

I am a science geek! Interests Astronomy, Skiing, Philosophy, basically any form of technology including writing automation software for my observatory. I will also share this with others using the same EQMOD/Astroart tool set.

These are screen shots of the prevous version of the AA6 Observation Manager.

Initial Page -With Target file selected.

After selecting target files and plotting the stars in the list on your horizon.

Plot screen active for target list.

You can see the stars  selected and position on your horizon.  You can also simulate the telescope movement including timing of mount, filters, exposure etc.  Just to make sure you don’t end up behind a tree after a couple of hours.

Once the exposures, for each filter (or zero) have been entered and focus/guiding selected if required the data can be saved, set as active and then an AA5-AA8 script generated for the nights observing.

The start up the observatory, check it is all running, including focus and guiding and load the script and run it.  If you used calculate to see how long it would take you can go and have tea and come back when it is finished or do some observing with another scope.

Hope you find this useful.  Let me know if you need any changes..

Now have a means of managing scripts and automating your telescope capture and processing.  Used for our Research Group work on binary star system measurement.  Uses a lot of the features in AA8.

All the best,

John
